Abstract
The seminar deals with a current topic in distributed information systems. Students are expected to attend the entire seminar, choose a topic for presentation (may be either a collection of research papers or describing a system and/or evaluating a concrete product). Students are evaluated in the knowledge gained, the presentation made and the report they will present at the end of the semester.

Das seit langem und oft beschworene Zusammenwachsen der Informatik und der Telekommunikation scheint nun tatsächlich auch stattzufinden, angetrieben durch die fortschreitende Leistungssteigerung bei Produkten der Mikroelektronik, die Dynamik des Internet und der damit zusammenhängenden Softwareindustrie, sowie die weltweite Liberalisierung des Telekommunikationsmarktes. Im Rahmen dieses Seminars soll in jedem Semester ein Problemkreis an der Schnittstelle zwischen Information und Kommunikation aufgegriffen werden, wobei primär Themen im Zusammenhang mit aktueller internationaler Forschung ausgewählt werden.
