Introduction to theoretical and experimental biology

Content

The class is divided into three blocks: general biology, biochemistry and molecular biology. - General biology: Anatomy of rats, histology; Anatomy of plants, meiosis, reproduction of angiosperms; Genetics (Arabidopsis, Neurospora, Drosophila); Ecology of plants - Biochemistry: electrophoresis and protein chromatography; enzyme kinetics and protein detection; Generation of energy in biological membranes; Calmodulin and calmodulin-binding-peptide Molecular biology: plasmids, restriction analysis; PCR, DNA ligation, DNA sequencing; - Protein expression, protein spectroscopy, protein folding, protein modification; Three dimensional structure of proteins, protein crystallography
