Abstract

Introduction to simple methods and fundamental terms of statistics and probability theories for non-mathematicians. The concepts are presented on the basis of some descriptive examples.The book "Statistische Datenanalyse: Eine Einführung für Naturwissenschaftler" of W. A. Stahel will be basis for the lecture. Also a short script is sold.

Objective

Grundverständnis für die Gesetze des Zufalls und des Denkens in Wahrscheinlichkeiten. Kenntnis von Methoden zur Darstellung von Daten und zu ihrer quantitativen Interpretation unter Berücksichtigung der statistischen Unsicherheit.

Content

Beschreibende Statistik, einschliesslich graphischer Methoden. Einführung in die Wahrscheinlichkeitsrechnung (Grundregeln, Zufallsvariable, diskrete und stetige Verteilungen, Ausblick auf Grenzwertsätze). Methoden der Analytischen Statistik: Schätzungen, Tests (Vergleich zweier Behandlungen; Chiquadrat-Anpassungstest, auch für Mehrfeldertafeln), Vertrauensintervalle, Regression.
