Abstract
Some general methods of set theory which have important applications in other branches of Mathematics, including: arithmetic of the infinite cardinals and ordinals, well-ordering, transfinite induction and recursion, Zorn's lemma. Introduction to the axioms of set theory, "paradoxes", and "controversies".
