Abstract

Analytical part: basic operations for separation of mixtures of organic compounds (recrystallization, distillation, extraction, chromatography).Synthetic part (main part): ca. 8 one- or two-step preparations.

Objective

Learn the basic techniques for the preparation and purification of organic compounds. Learn to take accurate notes of the experiments. Deepen the understanding of reaction mechanisms.

Content

Analytical part: basic operations for separation of mixtures of organic compounds (recrystallization, distillation, extraction, chromatography). Synthetic part (main part): ca. 8 one- or two-step preparations. Introduction to electronic literature searches (Beilstein).
