Abstract

Publishing over internet: personal webpage, webserver. Spreadsheet programming: elementary simulation, numerical methods. Visualizing multidimensional data: exploratory data analysis. Data management with lists and tables: filtering, converting lists to tables. Relational databases: access to database, extending relations. Macro programming within spread sheet programs.

Objective

Learning how to use a personal computer as a tool to obtain and efficiently process scientific data. Acquire skills required to learn the use application programs by oneself. To practice the application of spreadsheet programs, simple databases, and multivariate graphical methods. To learn to extend the functionality of application programs through macro programming. Build the prerequisites for other computer science courses.
