Introduction to the physical principles of opto-electronic devices and circuits.
Content
Overview of modern semiconductor devices and circuits, important physical effects. Physical background (quantum mechanics, quantum electronics, solid-state physics). Physics of heterostructures. Interaction of light and matter, generation, detection and modulation of light in semiconductors.
