High Temperature Materials for Advanced Energy Applications
Last Updated: 2026-02-05 15:25:19
Abstract
Semester program:High temperature materials for future gas/steamturbines, plants for coal gasification, solar heat, hydrogen production, fission (generation IV) and fusion are discussed. Main emphasize will be on choice of materials, service loads, materials damage and damage quantification (materials testing, materials analysis, materials modelling).
Objective
The participants should become familiar with the following issues: - Materials problems of the most important current and future energy plants operating at elevated and high temperatures. - Typical loading conditions and related materials damage. - Most important high temperature materials for structural applications. - Advanced methods for materials research for life-time assessments and condition monitoring
