In this course, students get an overview of agricultural policy evaluations and their societal and political relevance. They learn to understand and apply the principles of scientific based evaluations of agricultural policies.
Most societal issues in agriculture contain both economic and social issues. Several such topics will be discussed. Its main part will examine hierarchies, markets or cooperation as interaction forms. On a more aggregated level, different agricultural systems will be evaluated in terms of main socioeconomic parameters like social capital or perceptions.
