Plant Pathology IV
Pflanzenpathologie IV: System-Management im modernen Pflanzenschutz
Last Updated: 2026-06-03 00:13:57
Abstract
The course consists of a mixture of information elements (frontal teaching), learning units with examples (student participation), self-study, group work and plenary discussions. Where possible, it includes epidemiology, the most important basics of which are repeated at the beginning.
Objective
Students understand modern plant protection as a system component of plant production. Based on current practical examples, they recognise the relationships between different elements of the modern production system and are able to weigh these up. They are able to evaluate existing measures for their suitability for the system and actively participate in the development of future plant protection concepts for various crops and cultivation systems.
Content
Seven half-day workshops led by various plant protection experts from research and practice. After an introduction to a specific topic, students work in groups on a question or a current problem and develop plant protection concepts for specific crops and cultivation systems.
