During the semester there is a colloquium on topics in astrophysics every week. In general, colloquia are 45 minute reviews on topics of general interest by local researchers or by guests. Some of the colloquia are more specialized, but last only 20 minutes and are given by members of the Institute of Astronomy to inform about their current work.

This course discusses physical transport and mixing processes affecting the behaviour of dissolved and particulate compounds in natural waters. Emphasis is on turbulence in stratified waters (oceans, lakes) and advective-dispersive transport in rivers and groundwater. The interrelation to temporal and spatial distribution of constituents is provided.
