The course is based on empirical studies with Swiss firm data.

In this course we are dealing with important topics of the economics of technical progress. The course is conceived as an introduction to the subject, also to actual policy discussions related to technology and innovation. We apply a microeconomic approach based on the neoclassical theory of the firm. We illustrate our subject through several empirical studies with Swiss firm data.
