Processes on Earth surface: Climate, water cycle, weathering and erosion, transport, sedimentation. Rock deformation. Geochronology, stratigraphy and Earth history.

Introduction to geochemistry and its application to the study of the origin and evolution of the Earth and planets.

The course focuses on the most important systems of radioactive and stable isotopes used in geochemistry and geology. Applications of isotope geochemistry for solving fundamental geological problems are discussed on the basis of case studies.

Introduction to oceanographic methods and international research programs in marine geology and an overview of physical, chemical and biological processes in modern marine environments.

In this course we present and discuss advanced topics in geochemistry based on the critical reading of research papers. Themes include hydrothermal geochemistry, isotopes in meterorites, low temperature geochemistry and biogeochemistry.
