Colloquium on Manufacturing Technology
Fertigungstechnisches Kolloquium
Future training on selected current topics of the manufacturing technology. Per afternoon a selected topic is presented in several lectures, by the majority by experts from the industry. The students prepare a summary of the lectures given and prepare themselves on the basis of these lectures and own information search.
Engineering Tool IV: Experimental Modal Analysis
Ingenieur-Tool IV: Experimentelle Modalanalyse
Measuring- and analysis-methods for the determination of transfer functions of mechanical structures. Evaluation and preparation of the measured data for visualisation and interpretation of the dynamic behaviour.
Engineering Tool V: Experimental Modal Analysis
Ingenieur-Tool V: Experimentelle Modalanalyse

Quality of Machine Tools - Dynamics and Metrology at Micro and Submicro Level
Qualität von Werkzeugmaschinen - Dynamik, Mikro- und Submikromesstechnik
The course "Machine tool metrolgy" deals with the principal design of machine tools, their spindles and linear axes, with possible geometric, kinematic, thermal and dynamic errrors of machine tools and testing these errors, with the influence of errors on the workpiece (error budgeting), with testing of drives and numerical control, as well as with checking the machine tool capability.
Control, closed loop control, processing of geometrical data, main drives, noise, flexibility, rationalization and automation, modern machine concepts, thermal and dynamic behavior
Production Machines II
Produktionsmaschinen II
dynamic of machine tools, automation, new machine concepts, evaluation of concepts and simulation, example forming machine tool
Production machines I
Produktionsmaschinen I
Basics of the machine tool design, Six-point principal is shown. Components of machine tools (frames, bearings, guides, measuring systems, drives and their control) and their types of construction will be discussed. The main features of metal forming machines will be explained.
