Knowledge of pharm. excipients, materials, containers, liquid and semi-solid dosage forms, their production, function, quality and application. Comprehension of molecular interactions in solution and colloidal systems. Comprehension of interfacial phenomena and stabilization measures in dosage forms.

The students gain knowledge on excipients, the preparation of simple dosage forms under consideration of basic quality assurance requirements, on quality control of medicaments and pharmacopoeial requirements. This enables them to analyse and understand simple galenical problems, to study them experimentally, and to evaluate and present the data in a scientific format.
