In this seminar students discuss recent contributions to the literature of time setries econometrics. They learn to practically apply theoretical concepts of time seris analysis. The main field of application will be macroeconomic and partly methodolical problems. Students will primarily use the free software package JMulti.

Introduction: Summary of the foreign trade policy instruments (tariffs and nontariff barriers, cooperation, integration etc.). Main topic: Presentation of the actual world trade order (GATT, WTO, EC and NAFTA). Case studies, especially from the foreign trade policy of Switzerland

Introduction to the economic decisions of households and firms, and their coordination through markets. Analysis of different market structures and of situations in which markets may lead to socially undesirable outcomes.
