Participants will learn the essentials of remote monitoring and the use of other digital health technologies in clinical trials. This includes key technology, selection of devices, integration into trials, and subsequent data management. Concepts and devices will be presented, and participants have the chance to learn about challenges with hands-on workshops and direct interactions with experts.

This course consists of a series of seven lectures given by researchers who have distinguished themselves in the area of Robotics, Systems, and Controls.

The course, designed specifically for D-HEST Bachelor’s students, introduces techniques to analyse circuits with resistive, inductive and capacitive elements. Time and frequency domain responses of simple circuits are discussed. Fundamentals of active filters are introduced. Throughout the course, applications of electric circuits used in sensors and measurement systems for health are presented.

The course introduces concepts about wearable and unobtrusive technologies for sport and health data collection. Tools for analysing this data and evaluating the performance of these systems are introduced. Topics such as monitoring movement and muscle activation, mental focus, stress, and heart health are covered.
