the lecture will give an overview over some systems of philosophy aof nature since there is an experimental mnatural science. We will look at fundamental terms of these systems like "law", "chance", "cause", space" and "time" and consider the conceptual constellations , in which they appear as possible obejcts of a philosophy of nature in our time.
Das Seminar wird anhand der Lektüre des dritten Teils von Spinozas Ethik in die philosophische Literatur über Gefühle überhaupt einführen und den spezifischen spinozistischen Standpunkt rekonstruieren.

The course gives an overview of the theory and history of fallibilism from Peirce up to the present. We explore the question of what the rejection of absolute certainty means for the sciences and for other social spheres, such as politics and education. We will read texts from Charles S. Peirce, Chauncey Wright, Paul Feyerabend, Judith N. Shklar, and others.
This lecture will give an overview of criticisms of reason from the 20th century to the present. Starting from Oswald Spengler to Horkheimer and Adorno, Wittgenstein and Feyerabend. Special attention will be given to the discussion of the empirical sciences.
