Technological change, i.e. the innovation and diffusion of new technologies, is a fundamental driver of economic growth but can also have detrimental side effects. This module introduces methods to assess technology-related policy alternatives and to analyse how policies affect technological changes and society.

The United Nations Agenda 2030 and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide an opportunity for the international community to shape the course of future global developments. The lecture focuses on the various sustainability and equity challenges as outlined in the SDGs and provide insights from researchers as well as experts from policy, the private sector and civil society.
